THE PLACE BEYOND THE DUST BOWL is Ron Hughart's new book, published in softbound. The Place Beyond the Dust Bowl was released on May 13, 2002 and has already generated excitement in the generations of descendents of the people of the Great Depression. The book involves many areas of California including the San Joaquin and Salinas Valleys, Crescent City, Panoche, Visalia, Tulare, and Bakersfield. 
Many local newspapers in communities across the state have reviewed and published wonderful articles on the book. Most of the coverage on the book was the result of unsolicited reports from people who read it and called the media. 
With Hughart's experience with a Harley Davidson, the book has also become popular among Harley Davidson riders. I've been asked to attend a "biker’s rally" in Panoche where his photograph has been placed on display in the local restaurant/bar. The owner of the restaurant has asked Hughart to sign the photo, which will be seen by the weekend bikers who are doctors, lawyers, and other professionals. This interest has been unexpected yet delightful.

Hughart is currently scheduling book-signings up and down the state as well as speaking to clubs, organizations and educational groups.
