Output in three model years (1974, 1975 & 1976) was 2854 cars before Bricklin went bankrupt. Approx. 1500 still exist today. Malcolm Bricklin said he would build a car to revolutionize the North America car industry. The New Brunswick government, anxious to attract jobs, agreed in 1973 to provide him with initial financing. Two years later, Bricklin motored into bankruptcy with enormous losses including a debt of $ 23 million to New Brunswick. The authors chronicle the Bricklin project from creation to collapse, disclosing information the New Brunswick government in Canada still considers to be confidential.
