No greater privilege has been proffered mankind than the solemn opportunity to step personally into the Throne room of Heaven to address the God of the universe in personal conversation. It is utterly amazing that such a privilege has been ignored, abused, misused and misunderstood by so many. The divine invitation is clearly expressed in scripture. We are invited to speak as a child to the Father. Entrance to God's presence is available through the mediation of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. To aid us in coveying our burden to the Father, the Holy Spirit readily intercedes on our behalf. The time of prayer is not to be taken lightly, but because of entrance to prayer in Jesus' name we are encouraged to come with boldness and confidence. Thankfully in this age, God's throne is portrayed as a throne of grace and we can come before Him at any time with the certainty of His love, compassion, interest and understanding as He receives our praises and petitions. Too many have by-passed biblical instruction on prayer and thereby missed the intended blessings that await the humble saint who comes--Before the Throne of Grace. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

The nation of Israel is among the smaller nations of the world. It ranks 154th in size and 97th in population. Yet, it is one of the most well-known of all countries and finds its way into the evening news on a regular basis. Its history is unique, going back to 2,000 BC, when Abraham, the father of the nation left his kindred and his homeland of Mesopotamia to travel to what was then the land of Canaan. While his descendants vacated the land of their own accord, they ended up as a slave nation to Egypt and never returned for 400 years. They came out of Egypt determined to claim the Land they believed had been given to them by God. For centuries the Jewish people enjoyed and endured various measures of success in maintaining control of the land, their sacred possession.In 1948, the Jewish people reclaimed the land after almost 2,000 years of exile. Israel now stands as an independent Jewish State. It ranks among the most powerful nations of the world. It enjoys incredible economic success through agricultural, industrial, scientific, and educational innovation.But, does this nation have a future based on the promises of God found in the Bible? Is there a pathway for the future laid out in the prophetic teachings of the Word of God? Has Israel been set aside and in some way replaced by the Church, as some would teach? Israel, Still God’s Chosen People, presents the biblical message regarding Israel’s past, present and future. This yields to a discussion of the end of the current age, when Jesus Christ will return to take His saints to glory, before the final chapter of God’s plan for Israel.

<p>There is a cavalier attitude toward the Word of God today, as never before. One pastor in addressing the issue of a modern version said, "It is still the Word of God, isn't it?" A leader in the Conservative Evangelical movement of today said it did not matter, because he was sure that if someone read, believed, and obeyed any of the modern versions they could get saved and know how to live. We think it does matter when a text is selected that diminishes the truth. When in Luke 2:43, the ESV changes Joseph and his mother to read parents, does it matter? The ESV rendering undermines the virgin birth and Christ's deity. Some will excuse this disgraceful way of handling God's Word, by saying these truths are taught elsewhere; but the writers of God's Word had purpose in their choice of words, which must not be dismissed or ignored. When the ESV takes the warning of II Timothy 3:3, that in the last days, men shall be without natural affection and waters it down to read heartless, does it matter? The ESV rendering destroys one of the most serious warnings of God to His people as we face the last times. We need an awakening to the sanctity of God's Word. God has exalted His Word above His name. Our Lord Jesus made it clear that every jot and tittle will be fulfilled. Today we walk on dangerous ground. Questioning what God said, marked the beginning of Satan's spiritual war on earth. We find no reason to think that war has stopped.</p>
