He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Lowell and a master's degree in marketing from New York University. When he is not playing competitive tennis, or teaching adult writing classes, he continues to submit articles and short stories to national magazines. His co-authored novel, Kid Twist, is the story of Abe Reles, head of Murder Inc., and was published in 2004.  He has completed three other adult novels based on crime and romance. He was awarded a special prize for his unique, aggressive dialogue by a literary agency. After working 35 years as a research chemist and sales manager, he is retired and lives with his wife and sometimes collaborator of 55 years, Rosalie, in Boynton Beach, Florida. They have three sons and ten grandchildren.
