Many of the exotic combinations of metals here may have been reported in this book for the first time ever, and some of the metals had barely been discovered in their pure metallic state at the time this was published. Also note that chapter 10 contains several pages of specific information on the metals used in making cannons and firearms, which is a topic seldom found in antique books, as these were usually guarded secrets. Contains a wealth of details and information beyond what the chapter titles reveal.
