In the fall. of 1976, a singularly determined and relatively inexprienced yachtsman named Don Green approached C & C Yachts of Oakville, Ontario, and the prominent American sailmaker Lowell North, with the idea of turning them loose on a rare project. Green wanted a yacht with which to return the Canada's Cup, to its native soil... The result was Evergreen. Using documents and interviews, the author traces the short lived career of Evergreen from her conception to her last stand in the 1979 Fastnet disaster.
