<p>What is the Church of God? What is it not? D.S. Warner as a young minister wrestled with these questions. He saw the bride of Christ beyond any denomination. He saw the unity of the church. He saw in Scripture the biblical name of the church. His Bible study proved salvation was membership into the church. He, along with five others, at Beaver Dam, Indiana, in October of 1881 took their stand for the church of God found within the New Testament. They became known as "come-outers." They were not alone. Thousands followed them in coming out of denominations declaring their membership by salvation alone in God's Church.</p>
