Listed chronologically, each entry gives the name of the bride and groom and the marriage date, and many include the place of residence and parents' names. The source of the information is provided for each entry. About 8,000 names of brides and grooms are in the index.

This "second census" of Kentucky is an alphabetical list of 32,000 taxpayers and is based on original tax lists on file in the Kentucky Historical Society. Information given includes the county of residence and the date of the tax list in which the individual is listed. The genealogist finding a name of interest can then refer to the tax list (all are on microfilm), where he will find such information as the amount of land owned and its location, the number of individuals in various categories attached to the household, and other background information.

Second Census of Kentucky: 1800

These 5,000 obituary notices were extracted from six early Kentucky newspapers and published, in installments, in The Register of the Kentucky History Society. Most entries give the name of the deceased, place of residence, name(s) of wife or husband, parents or other survivors, date of death, and other genealogical details. This consolidated edition also features a complete index of names not found in the original.

Kentucky Obituaries, 1787-1854

. The Battle on River Raisin, which was fought in and around Frenchtown (now Monroe), Michigan from January 18 to January 23, 1812, was one of the four principal campaigns of the War of 1812 engaged in by Kentucky forces. Following the massacre of American forces at Frenchtown--including as many as sixty Kentucky soldiers-- Kentucky, patriots exhorted one another with shouts of "Remember the Raisin," which gave the new nation the "vengeance-fired impetus" to wage the remaining battles of the War of 1812. The larger of these two works treats all aspects of the Battle on River Raisin and features detailed biographical and genealogical sketches of nearly 100 officers and enlisted men who served on River Raisin and complete rosters of the Kentucky soldiers who saw action there. The smaller companion volume is a miscellaneous listing of Kentucky veterans of the War of 1812 compiled from newspaper files, pension lists, county histories, veterans' publications, and so on.

Approximately 1/3 of this book is devoted to county records and pension papers of soldiers who served in the Revolutionary War, Indian Wars, War of 1812; A list of men who served in the War of 1812 and wills of these pioneers settlers from 1791-1810.
