Until now, almost all books on logical database design focused exclusively on relational design. However, modern database management systems have added powerful features that have driven a movement away from truly normalized database design. Logical Database Design Principles reflects these recent changes. The book begins by covering traditional logical design principles, followed by an analysis of the normalizing and modeling of data. It then examines designing for specific purposes, such as object-oriented databases, online transaction processing (OLTP), and data warehouses. As the text progresses, it moves from the purely logical into some physical design, as determined by how the features of modern databases are implemented. My part of our family (David Clark) came to Bracknell in 1861, and so I am descended from his son George, who was born on the 10th of July 1862._x000D_x000D_My father Bernard Clark was born there and grew up at this house. He later married Dorothy Hobley and bought the cottage._x000D_x000D_I was born there in 1953 and my bother (Colin) in 1957._x000D_x000D_x000D_x000D_I was always interested in the town's history, from highway men, to who owned the Bush Hotel or the Old Rose Inn, and of the famous people who once stayed there, or had moved to the town._x000D_x000D_In 1969 I interviewed some elderly people who had many a story to tell, but it was not until 2009 that I came back to carry out some detailed research._x000D_x000D_After working for forty years I found myself unemployed, so I spent a lot of time at Reading and Wokingham libararies, plus trips to Bracknell and Windsor._x000D_x000D_Then in 2012, I completed what I had set out to do, on my 59th birthday (6th January) of that year.
