It centers on none other than the eponymous Dr. Faustus, a man who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for wisdom and power. While Faustus’ pact with Lucifer earns him the services of Mephistophilis, a lesser demon, Faustus ultimately squanders these services and is blinded to several opportunities for salvation.
