Let's Get This Day Started: Math Grade K: Grade K

Students learn in two different ways-either using a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. A fixed mindset means that they believe they have a fixed amount of intelligence or talent that will never change. In contrast, a growth mindset means that they believe they can and will improve with effort. Research has shown that students are more likely to succeed once they take on a growth mindset and understand that they can get better at anything with time and effort. Students with growth mindsets see mistakes as learning opportunities, welcome challenges, and persevere with effort. Teaching about growth mindset and the science behind it has helped countless students to grasp the idea that they can achieve their goals, no matter their starting points.
