The objectives of the July 1994 workshop were to assess and characterize risk of organochlorines to the environment, to identify risk management options, and to develop strategies that address ecotoxicological problems. Topics discussed include sources, uses, and history of chlorine; distribution, transport, and transformation of organochlorine compounds; bioaccumulation and metabolism; modeling the fate and transport of compounds; effects on organisms; and risk management.
