In The Words, he compiled Jesus's words thematically, in clear and modern English, for nonChristians, spiritual seekers, agnostics, and believers.Since its first publishing in the 1990s, The Words has been translated into more than twenty languages, including Arabic and Chinese, and has inspired two music projects, "The Sermon on Exposition Boulevard," with Rickie Lee Jones (New West Records), and "Wordz from the Street," featuring some of the most prominent contemporary rap artists, reciting and improvising from the pages of this book.</p>
