Its prose style is reminiscent of modernist writers of the era, but with an ironic, surrealistic edge. Interior illustrations are in a similarly ironic style. Hugh Bonar has written for the LA WEEKLY and SPIN magazine, and performs music as the solo artist HB3. This is his first novel.
