The book is the original version of the English translation of Sri Ramana Maharshi's Upadesa Manjari (Spiritual Instruction), which was long out of print. Society of Abidance in Truth (SAT) has republished it in its entirety in the form of this book. The actual text is considerably different in expression and the details of the teachings from the more commonly known version of this work. Includes all of the original notes and explanations.

The Upadesa Sarah (Upadesa Saram) by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. Translated with Commentary by Nome.\nBhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, abiding in the eternal Silence of the Self, composed The Essence of Spiritual Instruction for the supreme good of all in response to the supplications of the devoted Muruganar. This work has the English translation of the Sanskrit Upadesa Sarah, also referred to as Upadesa Saram. The translation is very literal and has alternative translations to help in fully comprehending the essence revealed in each verse. 
With each verse there is a ten-point commentary emphasizing the profound significance of the verse, which is the nature of the Self and its Knowledge of itself. 
Reading the verses and the commentary will cause the reader to dive deep into the sublime profound teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi and thus realize the Self. 
An appendix that contains just the Sanskrit text with transliteration is included for ease of recitation and similar purposes.

The book contains the full repertoire of daily recitation at Sri Ramanasramam. While it includes devotional hymns written by devotees about Sri Bhagavan, it principally consists of the original Tamil poetry of the Maharshi himself. Presented in roman script with adjoining English translations, this compendium is sure to prove invaluable not only for those who want to chant Sri Ramana's verses, but also for those who long to drink in evermore deeply the boundless wisdom they contain.  The texts are arranged in the order it is sung at Sri Ramanasramam during the six-day Tamil Parayana. Brief introductions to each days verses provide the history and circumstances surrounding their genesis. The appendix includes the transliteration and translations of hymns regularly recited at the Ashram.

Parayana: The Poetic Works of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi

This book embodies forty-two slokas (verses), which spiritual aspirants, desirous of liberation, can study and live by. These were selected by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi from Srimad Bhagavad Gita at the request of his devotees. Bhagavan has given the verses a very logical sequence, a coherent flow and synopsis in Krishna's own words. The beauty of this selection is that it incorporates in a mere 42 verses the entire message of the Lord's song of 700 verses. As the title suggests, this booklet is verily the quintessence of the Gita and is a gift of grace to be cherished by earnest readers.

This is the quintessential, aphoristic work, constituting one of the earliest recordings of the Maharshi s teachings, that spells out the nature of the Self and the practice of Self-Inquiry.  The text begins as follows:  All living beings desire to be happy always, without any misery. In everyone there is observed supreme love for oneself. And happiness alone is the cause of love. In order therefore, to gain that happiness which is one's nature and which is experienced in the state of deep sleep, where there is no mind, one should know oneself. To achieve this, the Path of Knowledge, the enquiry in the form of 'Who Am I?' is the principal means.  There maybe slight bends on the cover of the book due to transportation from India. The inside of the book is not affected.

Who Am I?: The Teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi

The Vichara Sangraham is the earliest recording of Maharshi's teachings. It has its origins in slips of paper upon which the Maharshi wrote answers to questions put to Him by Gambhiram Seshayya (Gambhiram Seshiar) during 1900 to 1902, when Sri Ramana was dwelling in Virupaksha Cave on holy Arunachala. The present work in prose consists of forty questions and answers covering the entire range of spiritual disciplines required for the gaining of release (moksha).
