Sammy decides to take the risk to look for his friends after a snowstorm. The animals learn Sammy is a kind-hearted friend that wants to play with everyone. He learns that it is not so hard to approach his neighbors when he takes this risk. Readers are reminded that we all have strengths that can help each other out and to take time to understand who someone is on the inside. Illustrated with bright colors and solid lines, the story engages a child's imagination as well as social skills, teaching the value of gift-giving and responsibility, among other qualities, in building friendships.</p>
