What if, unlike canon, the Bennets had sons? Could it be, if both father and mother prayed to God and begged for a son that their prayers would be answered? If the prayers were granted how would the parents have been different and what kind of life would the family have? In many Pride and Prejudice variations the Bennet parents are portrayed as borderline neglectful with Mr. Bennet caring only about making fun of others, reading and drinking his port while shutting himself away in his study. Mrs. Bennet is often shown as flighty, unintelligent and a character to laugh at. The Bennet parent's marriage is often shown as a mistake where there is no love, could there be love there that has been stifled due to circumstances? In this book, some of those traits are present, but we see what a different set of circumstances does to the parents and the family as a whole. Most of the characters from canon are here along with some new characters to help broaden the story. The normal villains are present with one added who is not normally a villain per se and I trust that you, my dear reader, will like the way that they are all 'rewarded' in my story. We find a much stronger and more resolute Bingley. Jane Bennet is serene, but not without a steely resolve. I feel that both need to be portrayed with more strength of character for the purposes of this book. Sit back, relax and enjoy and my hope is that you will be suitably entertained.

This tale is not just about Elizabeth but about the characters in her life, both good and bad, and the effect that she has on them. We also see the effects on those who have lost her.Thomas Bennet does everything that he can to protect his second daughter but Fanny finds a way to have Elizabeth kidnapped and she demands that the man kill her daughter and deliver proof when the deed is done.Fanny’s insanity driven actions lead to Elizabeth being discarded far from home. This is the final book in a 4-book series. *** Please note, there is description of a wedding night, but neither graphic nor gratuitous. ***\nAt the end of Book 3, Mrs. Fitzpatrick AKA Mrs. Catherine de Bourgh (her title having been stripped), unleashed her final revenge. Her pet Wickham plans to finish the job of killing Lady Elizabeth and then he wants to abscond with Georgiana Darcy. The book opens with the results of the ambush and its direct aftermath. The plant, Jones, tries to bargain for his freedom, we see if he had anything of value to trade.\nWhat happens to the conspirators and do they all reap their just rewards? Are any of the heroes harmed? All of these questions are answered in the first few chapters of Book 4.\nThe final book in the series follows the lives of the main characters as they love, live, and move forward. Another potential villain raises his ugly head, and we see who steps in to protect Lady Elizabeth this time.\nWilliam Darcy is finally able to stop crossing out dates on his calendar when Lady Elizabeth comes into society and has her ball. We follow the couple that we all love so very much from betrothal to marriage and into the future. At the same time, we get a glimpse of the lives of some of the characters that have been around Lady Elizabeth from the beginning of this series.\nNear the end of the book, we find out about a most unexpected pairing. They boys start out as the best of friends until Thomas starts to get resentful of his older brother’s status as heir.\nThe younger Bennet turns to gambling, drink, and carousing. In order to protect Longbourn, unbeknownst to Thomas, James Bennet senior places and entail on the estate so none of his son’s creditors are able to make demands against the family estate.\nThomas Bennet was given his legacy of thirty thousand pounds when he reached his majority. He marries Fanny the daughter of a local solicitor in Oxford where Thomas is teaching. He is fired for being drunk at work. He manages to gamble away all of his legacy while going into serious debt to a dangerous man in not too many years.\nWhen James Senior dies, Thomas and Fanny Bennet arrive at Longbourn demanding an imagined inheritance. They find out there is no more for them and leave after abusing one an all roundly swearing revenge.\nJames Junior, the master of Longbourn, and his wife Priscilla have a son, Jamie, and daughters Jane, Elizabeth, and Mary. Thinking he can sell Longbourn if his brother and son are out of the way, Thomas Bennet murders them and James’ wife by causing a carriage accident.\nThe story reveals how the three surviving daughters are protected by their friends and how they survive the man who murdered their beloved parents and brother. Netherfield belongs to the Darcy’s second son, William. There are many of the characters that are both loved and hated from the canon in this story, some similar to canon, a good number of them hugely different, there are also some new characters not from canon.

Surviving Thomas Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

**This is a book of two volumes, but all in one book. It is a one off, standalone story.** Over 150 years in the past an Evil Duke plotted to separate his first and second sons. He was a man who had two interests: money and status. Lord Sedgewick Rhys-Davies, the 3rd Duke of Bedford sets off a chain of events that ultimately ends up doing the exact opposite of what his original evil intent was in the far future. Mr. Thomas Bennet lives with his second wife and family on his estate Longbourn in Hertfordshire. As far as he knows, he is an indirect descendant of the last Earl of Meryton whose line died out with him over 150 years ago. The family has owned Longbourn and Netherfield Park for as long as anyone remembers. There is an entail on Longbourn, but not the one we are used to. As in the canon, this Bennet dislikes London, and the Ton and he and his family keep away from London society. His second wife is the daughter of an Earl but just goes as Mrs. Bennet. The Bennet's new tenants at Netherfield Park are the Bingleys. One of the major deviations from canon in this tale, Jane Bennet has more than a little backbone while Bingley has little or none. How will Darcy behave, will he make assumptions and act on them? Will Elizabeth allow her prejudices to rule? When Wickham slithers onto the scene will he cause havoc? The 7th Duke of Bedford is ill, and he will be the end of the line as there are no living relatives to inherit the dukedom and vast Bedford holdings. He removes an old letter from a safe in his study written by the 4th Duke. Witten on the outside of the letter is: 'Open ONLY if there are no more Rhys-Davies heirs.' The Duke opens the letter and learns of the 3rd Duke's evil and there is in fact an heir, although a direct descendant, he is not a Rhys-Davies. This is the story of different families and what happens when their lives intersect and are changed for ever. There is quite a bit about Lizzy & Darcy, but there are not always the main focus of the story as the title infers.

Unknown Family Connections: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

** There is no fairy-godmother or magic in the story although there is some imagery we would expect to see in a Cinderella adjacent story – my apologies to those who thought there would be magic based on the title.** Mr. Thomas Bennet married the love of his life: Miss Fanny Gardiner. She gave him three children, Jane, Elizabeth and Tommy. 2 years after Tommy, Fanny was taken from her loving family birthing a second son, who was stillborn.\nAnother branch of the Bennet family, cousins to the Longbourn Bennets, are titled, the Earl and Countess of Holder, who live in Staffordshire with their 5 children. The two families are extremely close and after Fanny dies Bennet’s cousins, at his request, keep and raise Tommy. In his grief Thomas Bennet doesn't think he can raise a 2-year-old at the same time as his two daughters. He also feels Tommy needs a mother figure in his life.\nMartha Bingley is the widow of an honourable tradesman, Mr. Arthur Bingley, who had died of a heart attack. Bingley senior was a minor partner of Edward Gardiner in Gardiner and Associates. They had three children, Charles, Louisa, and Caroline. Unlike canon, the Bingleys are not very wealthy, and the girls have small dowries of £2,000 each.\nBennet is introduced to Martha at his brother-in-law’s house. The Bingleys live in a leased house a few houses down from the Gardiners on Gracechurch street. Martha has always dreamed of climbing up the social ladder, raising her family above their roots in trade, so she compromises Bennet as he is a landed gentleman with an estate. Being an honourable man, and against advice of friends and family, he marries her. 
 Our ' 
prince' in the story is of course none other than His Grace Fitzwilliam Darcy, Duke of Derbyshire, Earl of Lambton. Like canon his parents have already passed away. 
Dear old Lady Catherine de Bourgh will do anything to make her sickly daughter with a nasty disposition a Duchess. At some point the Duke purchases Netherfield to be closer to London so his sister, Lady Georgiana, will have her preferred music master close by.\nBennet never reveals the existence of his son, or his relations, who are peers of the realm, to his new wife, who he dislikes intensely. The neighbours, none of whom like the new Mrs. Bennet or her children, keep the Bennet’s secrets without question. Bennet allows his new wife to believe the entail on Longbourn is away from the female line giving her the impression that on his death, she and her three spawn will be evicted from the estate by a distant unnamed cousin.\nSometime after sending Jane to live with his cousins, for reasons which will be revealed in the story, with Lizzy refusing to leave her father’s side, Bennet has an accident which kills him. When no heir presents himself to throw her and her children, still at Longbourn, into the hedgerows, the stepmother feels more secure at the estate.\nSeveral of the usual suspects are present as well as some other characters. This is a story of hope and survival and the eventual triumph of good over evil.

Cinder-Liza: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary

None of the books in this series are purely about the title character, but how their taking charge affects those around them. Fanny Bennet dies of an apoplexy two years prior to the start of this story. As in canon, the Bingleys, Hursts, and Darcy arrive in the area residing in the leased Netherfield Park. Up until the Reverend William Collins arrival, things are not far from canon. Collins is the sycophant we all love to hate and sets his sights on Jane. Bennet tells him in no uncertain terms he will not consent to such a man marrying ANY of his daughters. Charlotte Lucas overhears Collins ranting to himself about how he will evict the Bennets from Longbourn the day Bennet passes. He then tried to woo Charlotte soon after and she too rejects him. He is derisive when she rejects him out of hand, he tells her that no man would ever offer for one on the shelf, without fortune, and as homely as her. Collins then proposes to Matilda Dudley, Lizzy's friend and Longbourn's widowered parson's daughter. Matilda accepts him much to Elizabeth and Charlotte's surprise. Collins's words to her spur Charlotte to take charge, the story tells the tale of what she does and how it affects the lives of not a few people. The book examines how Charlotte actions change the trajectories of some of our favourite (to love and hate) characters.
