BlueRocketBooks Reviews
Comment: There are several companies to which I am hesitant to sell back. This is due to their either vague or misleading guidelines on what they accept or their dishonest practices. BlueRocket falls into the first category. Look, if you state in your guidelines that 20% of the book may have markings and then turn around and refuse to pay for a book which has 44 pages of 387 with light markings, then perhaps you are lying, refusing payment and selling that book anyway. I have been tempted to try them again, but no longer trust them. Same goes for Booksrun, which has burned me multiple times. They have great reviews, but given the text and cadence of the reviews they are either AI generated, or idiots that cannot change up their grammar. Would not use either. Recommend photographing all book covers to indicate condition, noting how many pages are marked or high lit, and photograph all ISBN on back cover or fly page in older editions. Several of the major companies have proven honest (Powells, Ziffit, SBYB, Ecampus, Textbookrush, Comic Blessing) however having a photo backup may help.
Comment: I accepted the quote for two books as a trial to test them out vs the other two I typically use(ive sent in 100's of books). BRB's website said less than 20% writing in the book (I read no more than 20 per page and per total pages in the book). It was at 10% (I take photos so I can remember). I am very experience grading books and other buyback companies & all my customers agree with my assessments. When BRB said they wouldn't send the $12 but I could have the book back for $6.95 shipping I wasn't pleased. I appealed stating where is the photo showing more than 20%? This is a $35 book I could easily sell elsewhere. They promptly offered me the $12 & I accepted thinking it was a goodwill gesture because they care about their customer's experience. NOPE. They rudely invited me to not use their service anymore. I have sold 100's of books to other wholesalers with zero issues. Blue Rocket Books gets a Big Fail in my book. Terrible service.
Comment: I usually sell books to other sites, but I had a book that Blue Rocket Books was paying the most for, by over $10 more than the other sites. Everything went very smoothly, and I received payment very quickly. I would definitely use them again!
Comment: Transaction went as expected and had no problems. I received the full amount quoted. Great to work with prompt communication.
Comment: I have sold a couple of books to Blue Rocket and had no problem.
Comment: I attempted to sell two books to them. Was quoted approximately $27 for both. They rejected both for "excessive markings". Their website says: "Books in 'good' condition will typically [have] Writing/highlighting in less than 20% of the book". I am certain that the books I sent satisfied this standard. I reached out to contest this, and they offered me half the quoted price. I then responded and stated that if they could provide an adequate explanation for their initial rejection that I would accept the 50% reduction. They stopped responding and have not paid me anything. I sent twelve books, in nearly the exact same condition, to a competitor (Textbook Rush) and was paid the full quoted amount. I would highly recommend going through them instead. Avoid BlueRocketBooks at all costs.
Comment: I had a quoted price for this book at $61.67, received PayPal deposit of only $32.06. No explanation for the downgrade. No option of returning the book. Used their email address and was rejected twice. Will be contacting them via FB. This is the worst I have been treated by ANY buyback company since 2007. Shame on them for pathetic non-communication
Comment: Seller beware! Claimed a near new condition book I sent was damaged, didn't pay me anything.
Comment: Received excellent customer service & a fair price on my buyback.
Comment: Books arrived 01.27.2022 and payment received via PayPal 02.02.2022. Swift processing and payment; I'd use again
