This delightful book uses brief captions and over 300 rare pictures and documents to tell a visual story of the of Willard and Rebecca Bean and their 24-year missionary experience in Palmyra, New York. Most of the pictures come from the Palmyra Bean Packer and Alvin Pliny Bean collections. Both of them were born in Palmyra.  As they started their mission they faced much religious intolerance, prejudice, and persecution. Willard Bean, a retired professional boxer, was fearful of nothing and used his boxing skills on many occasions to defend himself and the Church throughout their early years in Palmyra. Rebecca provided a strong spiritual base from which many marvelous things happened as the Church and the Beans became accepted in the community.  Under Bean's direction many of the well-known historical landmarks of Western New York were purchased, including the Hill Cumorah. Willard and Rebecca Bean were prepared by the Lord for this life-long mission. This book is mostly their pictures and this is their story.
