My first sign of trouble was the lengthy delay (over a week) between the time first delivery was attempted until the time it was picked up. The BBB reports that the USPS is holding potentially thousands of books for unpaid postage which explains the delay. I have sent three emails each a month apart for which they have not responded. As the others on this list I have also reported them to the ic3 with hopes of not getting my money back (which will never happen I suppose) but for this company to be shut down protecting innocent future sellers. | |

From the day USPS delivered my books, it took five days for Fairbooks to notify me that they had sent me a check, and it took an additional four days to receive that check in the mail. Selling requires the exchange of goods and funds, and as of April 2012, I still have received no payment from them. If you like giving stuff away for free, having your emails ignored, and phone calls never being returned, then by all means use this company. Also, they have several outstanding Better Business Bureau complaints against them that they have yet to address. This company is a sham. | |

Sent them about $60 dollars worth of text books...over a month later I still have heard nothing and have gotten zero response to my emails or phone messages. At this point I believe they are a scam. I am contacting Amazon to point out to them that their continued association with this vendor is lending Fairbooks a credibility that they don't deserve. |

I noticed a trend while reading some of these posts: nobody is getting their money (either on time or at all) and my post is no different. I sent $140 worth of textbooks to them almost two months ago and have not received anything in return. I have emailed three times and haven't heard back at all. I will never use Fairbooks again. |

I emailed them when the order was a month old, and they told me the post office had held all their packages (I thought this was illegal?) and they had just gotten them and were working to catch up on the backlog. My hunch - just a hunch mind you - is that the post office held their packages because they hadn't paid their postage due bill. If that is the case, seller beware. | |

I mailed my books to Fairbooks on May 13, 2011 and according to them and the USPS they received them on May 17, 2011. That was 9 days ago and they have yet to pay me. They also do not return my phone calls or respond to my emails. Not surprising is the fact that the item I sent to them has been listed on Amazon for $150.00, yet the amount they promised to pay me $33.40, has not been deposited into my paypal account. If you have any sense at all, you will not send your books to these individuals. |

The first time I contacted them I tried by phone multiple times and they never returned my messages. I then emailed and got a response in which they told me their phones had gotten dropped in a lake. A joke I guess? I emailed them a few more times as the wait got longer and longer and they finally told me that the PO must have lost them, but I highly doubt it as there were two separate checks. Likely the worst transaction experience I've had thus far. I was excited to see a new site offering some good prices. I figured I would try them out. I sent off two large boxes, 30 books worth $600.00. I've been around enough to know to insure my boxes and I also included signature confirmation as it is a sizable order. They were sent on 9/27, received and signed for on 10/8. On 10/21, I finally thought it had been long enough that I should have heard something; so I emailed and inquired what was going on. I did receive a prompt response with a cute smiley face which I guess was meant to make me feel warm and fuzzy. The email stated "We're working hard to get your money to you." "some of our payments have been delayed""HOPE to have your payment to you sometime in the next 2-3 weeks." My grandfather always said, "you can hope in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets full first." I guess I will wait a bit more and see if they make good on payment. After 2-3 more weeks I'll try the BBB and see if they can help me get my money, or maybe small claims court. For now though I guess I will just have to think of them as F a i l b o o k s . c o m |

The guys over at customer service are prompt and go out of your way to make sure you get the money you deserve for the books. There was a slight mix-up as I sent them a number of orders at once and they went ahead and credited me a little extra money for the delay and inconvenience. I can not say how much I appreciate that from a company. I will definitely be doing business with them again. |
