|Oct 2013||This company is awesome, if people would read the FAQ they wouldn't be having all sorts of problems. Also get insurance on larger orders, USPS has been awful lately. The customer service here is great they will help you work out any problems. Have used them in the past and will use them again and will recommend to my many friends.|
|Oct 2013||Good service thus far on multiple orders|
|Sep 2013||I send hundreds of books to several buyback companies. I have always been happy with sell back your book until recently. Because of the volume I deal with I am very well aware of the importance of the condition and often ask myself "would I buy that used book in that condition" If there is any doubt it does not get sent in to any company. During the past 2-3 months just about every order has an issue. I am tired of them rejecting books that I know are in good condition. Tired of having to contact customer service. I will be eliminating sell back from my go to vendors.|
|Sep 2013||I have used SellBackYourBook more times than I can count and have never, ever had a problem. They process the books and issue payment quickly.|
|Sep 2013||Loved this company. I sent about 7 textbooks I used about 4 years ago in college. They accepted all of my books, stood by their quote price, and kept me in the loop about the status of my order. Strongly recommend using them.|
|Sep 2013||thank you for keeping your word. We received the check within a couple weeks. Will do business again with them.|
This is the best company ever! They are in time with their payments & have great customer service! They are fantastic! I will for sure sell them my books again!
|Aug 2013||I LOVE this company. They always buy my books for the quoted price! They are one of my top buyers. I can always trust them and they always pay. Read the rules, each buyer has quirks but I have never had any problem with them as long as I follow the buyback criteria.|
Sent book in perfect condition - received email stating the book didn't meet their condition requirements...but not sure which requirement because I doubled checked the requirements before I sent it in based on these other reviews.
I paid the 3.99 to have my book returned. I only sent the one book as a test run....no way I will use this company again. They are not legitimate...don't waste your time!!
|Jul 2013||i think this something everyone should know about.|
|Jul 2013||Sold to them on more than one occasion and there was an "issue" with order each times...which should not have happened. Also it appeared they paid less for a book (which was new, read once) than originally quoted. I would not utilize them again. When the did pay, the did pay within a two-weeks.|
|May 2013||I would not recommend SellBackYourBook.com. I sent them an inventory listing from my bookstore which closed and heard from them once, saying they would forward the list to their "IT Guy" who would review it and they would get back to me. It's been two months and I have heard nothing back!|
|Apr 2013||Sent book on 4/11, received quoted payment on 4/22 with no problems.|
|Apr 2013||The process was very easy and my check for payment was received in less than a month.|
|Mar 2013||Website accepted 3 of my books. Sent them in. On arrival, they claim the most valuable of the three is unusable, only paying for the lesser 2. Kinda funny considering that it was in perfect shape, cover to cover when I sent it out (IE purchased new, and never ended up using it for the class, gotta love profs who dont use all the books they assign)|
|Feb 2013||I sent them one book and two days after they emailed me to let me know my book had arrived, they emailed me again to tell me that my book was in rough condition. This pissed me off because the book was in perfect condition when i shipped it. After an email asking them to tell me what was wrong with my book, they replied telling my that after reassessing my book they would accept it and pay me the full amount.|
|Feb 2013||This company is great with wonderful customer service, they sent out emails with any issues to my order and re-evaluated the items in "rough condition", I also liked the option to get my books back for $4.00 some other places do not offer that option. They even paid me more money on 1 item that I had the wrong ISBN number on. Will be using the company again and will recommend to friends.|
|Feb 2013||They said my book was in "rough condition" and wanted me to pay $4 for them to send it back to me. I was only going to get like $5! Not worth it. Loss of a book so loss of money. Rip offs.|
|Feb 2013||This was the first time using this service. I did not have any problem. They processed the books quickly and I received check in a timely manner.|
|Feb 2013||highly recommended, first time to use them. very impressed with their service. got emails every step of the way.|
|Feb 2013||I sent in one book and was told it was in "rough condition" and I have to pay to have it returned. Won't be recommending or using this service ever again.|
|Feb 2013||I sent one book that was in very good condition and I received a email stating that they could not accept it because it was in rough condition. I was wary from reading previous posts of their record that's why I only sent them one item. I would recommend using another vendor.|
|Feb 2013||Received payment for 2 sell back orders and have another in progress. Everything worked as stated, all monies received, free shipping. Will and have used again!|
|Jan 2013||They paid for shipping, gave me more than anyone for my books and were really good about communication even when PayPal wouldn't help me!|
|Jan 2013||These guys are one of the best. Books were shipped on Monday and i got paid Friday. Thanks!!|
|Dec 2012||This site is horrible I sent them in books on Oct 18, 2012 and did not receive my money until Dec. 14, 2012 and i had a payment option of Paypal so it is not like they had to send a check. I got paid but in a very unprofessional time period. If you like to wait 2 months to get paid then go with them.|
|Dec 2012||I sent in more then one book, they said one was not in good condition, which I know it was, for it was new. Also they never mentioned or paid me for my other ones. I will never use them again.|
|Dec 2012||Used this vendor for the first time and I was pleased with the result. I sent in 5 books for an elderly neighbor. They received and processed the trade in quickly and paypal payment was prompt. I would use this company again if the occasion arises.|
|Nov 2012||They claimed that they didn't get my book after 1 week after USPS delivered it. And I sent my book to Amazon, bookbyte and sellbackyourbook at the same time, I got all my money beside sellbackyourbook. They are just awful.|
|Nov 2012||Only book has "water damage." Luckily it was one of the cheaper books so I feel they were honest. Got what I was quoted in a timely manner. Thanks.|
|Oct 2012||Sent 3 books, all virtually new, and only the cheapest one was accepted. Paid to have the other hardbacks returned and another vendor accepted them without problem. Won't be using this vendor again.|
|Sep 2012||I had no problem with this company at all. I got what I was promised for my books. Will do business with them again!|
|Sep 2012||Luckily I was paid the full amount, but the turnaround to get my money left me feeling like I was about to be scammed. It took over a month from when my books were shipped to receive the money via Paypal. They told me the wait was due to USPS being slow in shipping them the book, however I have never had USPS take 15 days to ship something even when it was sent across the country. They also offered no other means of shipping so USPS was what I had to use. Once they verified they received the book, it took an additional 2 weeks to be paid. I have used many other buyback companies, and was paid within a week. It took a month with this company.|
|Sep 2012||I have dealt with this company three times over the past year and I was paid the quoted amount every time. No adjustments whatsoever. I also like the fact that their prepaid USPS label comes with tracking ( FedEx is free for buyback over $50 or if you pay $3). Like Chegg and Textbooksrus ( probably the two fastest payers), this company also pays quickly (always a huge plus in my book) by Paypal which is usually within 1-3 days of delivery. I recommend using this company if you like getting paid fast.|
|Sep 2012||Sent them a brand new book and they rejected it...|
|Aug 2012||If you would have paid attention and actually read on their site that they don't buy back instructor editions...that wouldv'e helped. I had a great experience.|
|Jul 2012||Do Not Use This Company!!! They give you price quotes on any books, including teacher's editions. When I sent my books, I recieved an email telling me my books were unacceptable and that they won't send me any money when they already gave me a price quote. This company is a scam.|
|Jul 2012||A wonderful, easy experience. Sent two orders/boxes off via USPS on a Monday, got e-mail confirmations of receipt a couple of days later and two checks within a week.|
|Jun 2012||Always a good experience. No problems with this vendor whatsoever.|
|Jun 2012||great, they said they didnt receive my book, so I called, they said it made it there, so they will just send the check, I have also sent in dvds with the same company.|
|Jun 2012||Sellers beware. This company is playing bait and switch. Their website software quotes you prices for instructor edition books, but when you send it to them they notify you that their policy is that they do not buy instructor editions even though their software for selling books to them quotes you a price. They offer to send back the books to you but at your expense. If they don't want certain books, then they really should fix their software and quit using it as an excuse to rip people off.|
I have been selling to SellBackYourBook.com for awhile and have seen them be the best book vender available. They are aggressive in their purchases, offering the best prices, but also provide the best vendor customer service. Adam, in charge of customer service is always helpful, and always the best in delivering on-time payment.
I highly recommend SellBackYourBook.com
|Jun 2012||Recently sold my first shipment to SellBackYourBook.com and was overall pleased with the experience. They don't offer a lot for most books but they do often buy books no one else wants. They emailed me upon receipt of my USPS Media Mail shipment. Then promptly emailed me when there was a problem with the condition of one of my books. The book was a bit iffy I admit and wasn't surprised by their rejection. I instructed them to recycle it and they completed my order and paid me the that same afternoon. I was happy with this order and will try them again in the future. I liked that they offered for a $3 fee to return the book if I wanted it back. That can be very useful if you feel you have a valuable textbook and you don't trust them on the condition issue. Hope this experience helps others know what to expect when using their service.|
|May 2012||I am a little weary to sell books. Be careful how you ship because USPS tends to lose packages. Somehow two different packages I have sent have gotten lost. I am sending one more time, if it doesn't get to them I will not sell to them again. I didn't purchase insurance because it simply is worth more than the books.|
|May 2012||I have dealt with them and have been pleased with the results. Thanks SellBackYourBook.|
|Apr 2012||Hi, I just wanted to update my dealings with SellBackYourBook.Com. I have numerous past dealings and currently placed a sell order with them. I have been treated in an fast, honest and businesslike manner. I greatly appreciate their service.|
|Apr 2012||great seller,fast payment|
|Mar 2012||Have used them many times in the past without problem, but in the past week or so I've noticed a significant difference in what this site says they'll pay and what SellBackYourBook.com says they'll pay once you click through to their site.|
I sent books to 3 different companies and this is the only one I receieved payment from. It has been 3 months and no word or response from other companies. Stick with SellBackYourBook.com
|Mar 2012||I shipped them 5 books and got full payment by check within 3 weeks. No problems/complaints at all.|
|Feb 2012||I sent them a teachers textbook and was told on their book buying guide they would pay about $10 and sent it in and received a confirmation book invoice they were going to pay for it. They then emailed me and said they dont buy teacher guides inspite of what their online guide state. This is false advertising.|
|Feb 2012||My experience with SellBackYourBook has been prompt service and payment. So far, so good.|
I have used this company for years. However, recently, they have come up short. Like another reviewer, They said they didn't receive my books. I HIGHLY doubt this as the other media mail packages sent to other buyback companies that day were received promptly. Also, their excuse changed multiple times from my package still being at the post office to it was in the warehouse, but they were behind sorting packages. I have spent tons of time dealing with their customer service, but Adam has been anything but helpful. I am extremely disappointed as I am out almost $40.
|Jan 2012||Got full value back on book but kind of slow check delivery.|
There is a hidden $3 fee if you send your books through fedex. Was not aware of this and did not expect it since I sent books to 3 or 4 other places around the same time and none had such a fee. When I called they agreed to give me the money back because there was a promotion to wave the fee that started the day after I placed my order, otherwise I probably would've been SOL. OK experience otherwise.
They get 2 stars because the fee was not mentioned up-front or in any of the emails they sent only written in smaller print under the fedex options. Felt a bit like a bait and switch since they advertise free shipping.
|Jan 2012||They "never received my package." Since I handed it right to the lady at the post office on the same day I handed her about two dozen other packages of books to mail, as I do pretty regularly, and all of those books managed to get where they were going, as they do pretty regularly, I am way more inclined to blame SellBackYourBook.com for me being out both books and money right now. Whether the root of the problem is malice or incompetence will have to remain a mystery.|
